Rotating Brownouts again?

Rotating Brownouts again? Well I remember when I was little that brown outs are totally normal when there are typhoons or disasters but these days, it's just ridiculous.

So, what is rotating brownout? A power interruption that is evenly distributed to all the subscribers in a rotating schedule. That is to balance the load on all subscribers due to insufficiency of power supply.

Based from the articles I have read on newspapers, here in cebu, these are necessary due to "Power Plant Maintenance." Government Officials say there is more than enough power to go around but why is there even a brown out? That goes to show that we don't have any other back up power sources.

In the south, in naga we have supposedly clean coal power plants to rise and provide jobs and additional energy sources. But I have a question, since when did clean coal became clean? The residue may be cleaner or less harmful, but less harmful is still harmful. Why is it so hard for our officials to not just explore but implement alternative energy sources projects? Why has Ilocos Norte succeeded?

It is possible that politics and a bunch of excuses are in the way of this very good opportunity. We here in cebu remains locked in an obsolete carbon-based system.
