R.O.X's Bike Out! Save the Earth, Ride a Bike is part of the Bike Fest in the Active Zone Ayala Center Cebu happening from June 18-20.

R.O.X. (Recreational Outdoor eXchange) and the Active Zone of Ayala Center Cebu brings you Bike Out - A 16km Tour around Cebu City with the catchphrase Save the Earth. Ride a Bike. By June 20, 2010 R.O.X Bike Out! Save the Earth, Ride a Bike will kick off at 6:00 am at the Active Zone Entrance.

Invite your friends and family members as well. Bring your bike and helmet. R.O.X organized their own bike trip after the affair and take lunch out. Registration is free. The 1st 100 Registrants get a free t-shirt from R.O.X.

Cebu Business Month Green Expo

This Green Expo in Cebu will bring together multiple if not all sectors of the industry and of the government. The Cebu Business Month Green Expo will attract sectors such as local and international shareholders, government and other organizations.

The Cebu Business Month Green Expo which shall offer opportunity to learn more about green products and services all under one venue. The Green Expo Cebu will be on June 22, 2010 - June 24, 2010 starting from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m at the CICC (Cebu International Convention Center).

Kudos to the organizers Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry as they try to share and adopt a more active stance in the promotion of sustainable business practices. The Go Green Expo will show a wide array of eco-friendly products, services and technologies will be on display in one hall for three days. Shown below is an overview of the Go Green Expo:

*Green Entrepreneurship - will showcase micro, small and medium enterprises, cooperatives from government and nongovernment organizations, as well as international companies to boost their products such as jewelry, handicrafts and furniture using renewable materials in line with the growing green architecture and design in the world.

*Green Tourism - will display products and services from hotels and resorts, spas, restaurants, culinary arts, sports and adventures, green architectures, as well as products from the different municipalities of Cebu.

*Green is IT!- will showcase computer software and peripherals, telecommunication, IT service, e-logistics and retail technology, among others.

Scorching Weather, Health Danger & power crisis in cebu

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in Mactan recorded a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius last Monday—just as residents had to deal with extended power cuts.

Add to that a power supply shortage in the Cebu which make things more scorching hot. As reported locally, since May 20, temperatures have been climbing, from 34.4 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius. And now 37 degrees @_@

The Department of Health (DOH) issued a statement that reiterated its call for the public to protect themselves from the heat to avoid suffering ailments, like heat stroke so that public needs to take precautions. Avoid being outdoors or direct exposure to the sun, especially during mid-morning until mid-afternoon.

We should also bring umbrellas or any protective gear and drinking water to avoid being dehydrated while traveling. And not to mention our Dams and plants are suffering too, why not make a greenhouse for them? These things could have been mitigated if all of us not just the government proactively prepare for such things and not just always be reactive.
